Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight: Driving Trial Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Driving Trials in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight are the 10 checkpoint-based racing events spread across Gotham's open-world districts — one per district, with East End — Amusement Mile holding two.

LEGO Batman Driving Trial Rewards: One Uniform Rule
Unlike Combat Trials where all three medal thresholds vary by location, Driving Trials follow a consistent structure across all 10:
- Gold — 10,000 Studs (threshold varies — see below)
- Silver — 5,000 Studs (always 2:00)
- Bronze — 3,000 Studs (always 5:00)
Only the Gold cutoff changes between districts. Silver and Bronze are identical everywhere, which means the only decision that matters per trial is whether to push for Gold.
Driving Trial Gold Time Thresholds
- Tricorner — Gold: 1:00 (tightest in the game)
- East End #2 — Gold: 1:05
- The Cauldron South — Gold: 1:10
- The Cauldron North — Ace Chemicals — Gold: 1:10
- Old Gotham North — Gold: 1:15
- Old Gotham West — Gold: 1:15
- Newtown — Gold: 1:20
- East End #1 — Gold: 1:20
- Old Gotham South — Gold: 1:30
- Gotham Village — Robinson Park — Gold: 1:45 (most generous)
Why Driving Trials Matter: Vehicle Unlocks
Completing AR Trials — any mix of Combat, Driving, and Traversal — unlocks vehicles at no Stud cost:
- 4 AR Trials — Batpod
- 8 AR Trials — Batcycle
- 25 AR Trials — Wingcycle
The Batpod and Batcycle in particular are among the most maneuverable Vehicles in Gotham — completing the first eight AR Trials (a mix of Combat and Driving) is one of the fastest ways to unlock both at zero Stud cost.
Vehicle Choice and Character Restrictions
Each character can only drive their own assigned vehicles — Batman drives Batmobiles and bikes, Catwoman drives the Kitty Car, Jim Gordon drives GCPD vehicles, and Talia drives League of Shadows motorcycles.
The Batmobile unlocks automatically after completing the Infiltration mission in Chapter 1 and serves as the primary vehicle for most Driving Trials.
Boost (triggers increased speed at the cost of steering precision) is available from the moment the Batmobile is unlocked — use it on straight checkpoint sections and release it before corners.
Unlocks After Dynamic Duo, Same as Combat Trials
All 10 Driving Trials become available during or after the "Dynamic Duo" story chapter, the same milestone that unlocks Combat Trials.
Holographic trial markers are visible in districts before this chapter but cannot be activated until the mission is complete.
